MONTREAL - The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) athlete committee expressed outrage Monday over "the truly shocking" revelations regarding Russia's rampant state-run doping program. "All athletes have a right to clean sport and a right to compete clean," the committee said. "The findings of the McLaren report are truly shocking," the committee said. "Now is the time for sporting organizations to stand up against doping and affirm in the most robust ways possible their commitment to protecting clean athletes and zero tolerance." Scott and her panel reacted to the report by Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren that found Russian secret service and government workers helped substitute and swipe doping test samples so dope cheats could compete at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
