Education Ministry's Padu optimistic 2018 Budget will accelerate education transformation

LONDON: The massive RM61.6 billion allocation for the Education sector under 2018 Budget will help to accelerate the Key Performances Index (KPI) for the Wave 2 of National Education Blueprint 2013-2025. Education Ministry Performance and Delivery Unit (Padu) chief executive officer Khadijah Abdullah said the generous allocation is a boon for the ongoing transformation, especially in boosting the use of Information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) in the classroom. "The use of ICT in the classroom learning and teaching process is highly crucial to transform our for future education system, which is one of the key areas in the Second Wave of the Blueprint. "There is still a lot of work to be done and it is good to know that we are on the right track in transforming our education system," she said. Padu was established on March 20, 2013 as a unit under the Education Ministry with the primary role to facilitate, support, and deliver the ministry’s vision in transforming Malaysia’s education system.
