KUALA LUMPUR: The Penang National Park will be temporarily closed to visitors to give way for cleaning and maintenance works following heavy rains and strong winds which lashed the state over the weekend. Wildlife and National Parks Department director-general Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said the storm uprooted numerous trees along the park’s main trail, as well as its campsite. “Visitors are advised not to visit the Park… during this (period of inclement weather) for the sake of their safety,” he said.
