PADANG TERAP: Education Minister is looking into the code of ethics for parents which were submitted by the National Union of Teaching Profession (NUTP) last year. Its minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the code of ethics will be implemented once the ministry had viewed the matter thoroughly from all aspects. The code of ethics will be aimed at protecting teachers’ dignity and emotion from being adversely affected by parents’ actions due to their dissatisfaction. Recently, NUTP urged the ministry to implement the code of ethics immediately following a number of cases of teachers being attacked by disgruntled parents, especially in urban areas. "Let the Fire and Rescue Department complete their duty in regard of the schools’ safety then we can move to the co-curriculum plans," he said.
