Editorial: Twyford's housing Christmas wishlistSTUFF An affordable house remains beyond the grasp of many New Zealanders, no matter how letters they send to Santa. EDITORIAL: One hopes Housing Minister Phil Twyford has been a good boy this year, because he's going to be sending Santa a very long wishlist. To put that into perspective, Labour's own figures suggest fewer than 500 affordable houses will be built in our biggest city this year. Not to mention the established communities that may balk at the growth of medium-density housing in their backyards. If Twyford is to tackle this crisis meaningfully he's going to need to tick all of these and a few more off his list.
