McGuire, grabbed his wetsuit, pulled out his little dinghy and sailed house to house helping emergency services pick up stranded people from their homes. Kawerau locals Jason Hubbard and Kipa Fowell decided to forgo work when they saw news of Edgecumbe's flooding.
