MURRAY WILSON/STUFF We don't know the future of soft plastics recycling in New Zealand. Is the soft recycling scheme genuinely going to come back? An Australian company called Replas used to take our soft plastics and recycle them into playgrounds, bollards, speed bumps, signs and the like. Unfortunately the large amount of soft plastics being sent to Replas was overwhelming, so they stopped taking it. The amount of roadside equipment they needed to make didn't match up to how much soft plastics were coming in.
