The math competition on Mar 23 was attended by 182 students from 22 universities and 50 students from seven schools, according to a press release from the university. The programme began at 9:30 am and was inaugurated by Syed Manzur Elahi, the chairman of the university’s board of trustees. The ten top students at the university level and three students from the school level were awarded prizes at the end of the competition. The prize-giving ceremony was held at 4 pm in the East West University Faculty Lounge. According to the EWU Science Club, the Math Olympiad is aimed at generating enthusiasm, building interest in the subject and sharpening the skills of math students.
