Previous NextMichael ShumEast Rail services between Mong Kok East and Hung Hom stations will be suspended on 10 selected Sundays between January and October to allow the construction of the Sha Tin to Central Rail Link to continue. The suspensions will allow for work to connect the existing East Rail Line with the new Sha Tin link section at Hung Hom. And if the linking work goes smoothly, the number of service suspensions could be reduced from 10 days to eight. The MTRC's target of opening the harbor-crossing section of the East Rail Line in 2022 remains unchanged. "The bifurcation works are an essential step for the extension of the East Rail Line across the harbor to Admiralty station," said James Chow So-hung, the MTRC's projects construction divisional general manager.
