ERC joins inter-agency energy councilhome/Business/Top Business/ERC joins inter-agency energy councilTHE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has officially joined an inter-agency council tasked to fast-track project approvals, a Department of Energy (DoE) official saidWednesday. In a media roundtable, DoE Undersecretary Jesus Cristino Posadas said the Energy Investment Coordinating Council (EICC) had allotted a seat for the ERC. ERC chairperson Agnes Devanadera recognized the significance of having the agency onboard since it comprises the last leg of the permitting process. The ERC has chosen its spokesperson, Florensinda Digal, to represent the regulator at the EICC that became effective by the virtue of the resolution promulgated by the council. The council is to issue the certification of energy project of national significance (CEPNS) for major power projects necessary to maintain grid stability and security in line with the Philippine Energy Plan.
