DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla said the decision to move Christmas break to an earlier date would spare students from being caught in holiday rush. “We just want to explain to the parents that the students are not the cause of traffic, they are victims of traffic,” Sevilla said. Some lawmakers earlier asked the Education department to consider declaring an earlier Christmas break to help decongest vehicular traffic.
