For Success of Ghana 2024 ElectionsAccra, Ghana 20th November 2024 (Ghana Elections 2024): The Core Team of the ECOWAS Long-Term Observation Mission has stepped up consultation meetings with stakeholders ahead of Ghana’s 7 December 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. The Mission is supported by an ECOWAS Technical Team coordinated by Ambassador Abdel-Fatau Musah, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security. Ahead of the elections, ECOWAS sent a fact-finding Mission to Ghana from 21-27 July to assess the country’s preparedness for the crucial vote. While they all agreed that the Electoral Commission is gradually gaining public trust, the CSOs say the confidence in the judiciary is still low. With an estimated 34.4 million population, Ghana has more than 18.7 million registered voters and 27 political parties.
