Separate letters, signed by EC Deputy Secretary Atiur Rahman, ordered Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, to leave his polling area by 6pm on Saturday, and Cox's Bazar-3 constituency lawmaker, Shaimum Sarwar Kamal, to leave his polling area by 5pm Sunday (March 17). Elections in Fulchari and Saghata Upazilas under Gaibandha-5 constituency are scheduled for March 28. Earlier, the EC directed six MPs to leave the polling areas during the first phase of the polls. A case was filed against the Assistant Personal Secretary (APS) of the Social Welfare Ministry, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, for influencing the election in Aditmari Upazila Parishad in Lalmonirhat.
