MUMBAI: Budget day for the Narendra Modi government ended on a sour note as it was forced to extend the trial period of its much touted e-way bill , following a crash of its digital portal. "In view of difficulties faced by the trade in generating e-way bill due to initial tech glitches it has been decided to extend the trial phase for generation of e-way bill, both for inter and intra state movement of goods. It is generated every time a cargo item worth more than Rs 50,000 crosses 10 kilometers. "More than 100 trucks carrying our shipments are stuck," said Ashok Subramanian, who heads tax compliance at Dow Chemicals. We really have no problems with the eway bill.
