JOHOR BARU: With Hari Raya just 24 hours away, most people have already made their way back to their hometowns to spend quality time with their loved ones but for some, duty comes first so others can celebrate. “I will go back to meet them two weeks after Hari Raya,” the 39-year-old from Tawau said when met at the Larkin fire station. Another fireman, Mohd Harfizan Arriffin, 29, said he and his wife will be on duty. “Last year was the first time we celebrated Hari Raya with my parents in Negri Sembilan,” said the 29-year-old, who has been stationed here for the last six years. Similarly, Ahmad Nazuan Omar, 35, said that he had gotten used to not spending Hari Raya with his family as it was part and parcel of his duty as a fireman.
