Share TweetBy Genalyn KabilingThe influential Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) could install and operate private telecommunications services in the country for another 25 years after President Duterte renewed its franchise. 11219 or “an act extending for another 25 years the franchise granted to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ)” last February 14. “This franchise shall be deemed ipso facto revoked in the event the grantee fails to operate continuously for two years,” it added. The law stated that the franchise grantee must secure the appropriate permits from the National Telecommunications Commission for the constitution, installation and operation of its telecommunications systems.
