Best import Allen Durham flirted a triple-double to power Meralco’s 93-78 victory over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Sunday for a 2-0 start in the Philippine Basketball Association Season 42 Governors Cup at the Araneta Coliseum. Durham posted 30 points, 24 rebounds and nine assists plus three blocks, while Baser Amer had 27 points to lead Meralco’s back-to-back wins. Seven-footer Greg Slaughter, who recovered from a 10-month injury after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last year, returned for Ginebra and scored 14 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. LA Tenorio led the Gin Kings with 16 points. But their efforts were not enough to give the defending champion its first win in first game.
