KOLKATA: As trees begin to shed their leaves in autumn, the vibrant hues of Durga Puja celebrations is set to once again grace England, bringing together the Bengali diaspora in a grand display of culture, devotion, and community spirit. The festival recreates the quintessential Bengali tea-stall culture, encouraging lively debates over endless cups of tea. The festival will also feature illuminations inspired by Chandannagar.The Sanatan Bengali Association North London & Hertfordshire, founded in 2001, continues to be a cultural pillar, preserving Bengali traditions in the UK. This year’s Durga Puja, to be held at King Charles The Martyr Church in Potters Bar, will be a spiritual homecoming for many.The event will feature vibrant cultural showcases, including dance, drama, and music, reflecting the soul of Bengal. The festival this year will feature daily rituals, including bhog offerings, arati, and pushpanjali, ensuring the rich essence of Bengali tradition shines brightly.The Sutton Bengali Association’s Durga Puja, to be held from October 2 to 4, has become a highlight of South London’s cultural calendar.
