Duplex proposal for Hamilton's exclusive Harrowfield area perplexes neighboursDOMINICO ZAPATA/STUFF A 22-home development in one of Hamilton's swankiest streets has been given the go-ahead. Several Harrowfield Drive residents aren't impressed, saying the "excessive density" might lead to perceptions their neighbourhood is in decline. Independent commissioner Russell De Luca approved resource consent on behalf of Hamilton City Council after a September hearing. Existing Harrowfield residents were worried about everything from noise and traffic to "a perception that the character of the neighbourhood is changing and in decline". City council intermediate planner Sam Le Heron agreed it wouldn't be seen clearly from the street.
