GEORGE TOWN: A woman and a man who stole a Reclining Buddha statue from a temple believed to be worth RM10,000 have been remanded for two days. High court senior assistant registrar Ahmad Armi Najmudin granted the remand, which will expire on Sunday (Dec 24). A 29-year-old woman was arrested first on Friday (Dec 22) and the statue was recovered after the arrest of a 36-year-old man a few hours later. The woman then gave the man a boost so that he can reach for the foot-long statue on the altar which is over 2m high. They then strolled away calmly, with the statue stashed in a black bag carried by the woman.
