Alexander James William Merritt is on trial before the High Court at Dunedin accused of the murder of 51-year-old Karin Ann Ross, who was his supervisor at Spotless Cleaning Services. Spotless customer service manager Avril Weir told the court today that she and Ms Ross had started working at the company around the same time in 2003. She said the victim was only days away from a month-long holiday and had been “really looking forward to getting out of town”.
