The airport tweeted: "For safety reasons we are temporarily suspending flight operations (at the airport) due the confirmed sighting of a drone over the airfield. Are you at Dublin Airport? Email webnews@mirror.co.ukEddie Durkan tweeted: "I’m on a plane in Dublin airport bound for Frankfurt and some bell with a drone is pulling a Gatwick job". Another Twitter user wrote: "All flights suspended from Dublin airport just as I landed in Luxembourg hahaha, I'd say we were the last flight to leave." Hundreds of flights were cancelled at Gatwick Airport shortly before Christmas following reports of drone sightings near to the runway.
