ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) " South Africa captain Faf du Plessis and opener Dean Elgar posted unbeaten centuries Thursday, helping the Proteas reach 489 on day one of their last tour match before the test series against Australia starts next week. Du Plessis hit a six to reach triple figures and retired after stroking 102 from 112 deliveries. The pair combined after South Africa lost three early wickets against a second-string South Australia state team at Glenelg Oval. South Africa's attack will have a day to bowl out the South Australian XI on Friday. Australia and South Africa will play a three-test series starting next Thursday in Perth, Western Australia, and culminating with a day-night test match at the Adelaide Oval from Nov. 24-28.
