For Verity Scarlett from Port Levy it was her first Culverden Fete. The Timaru couple decided to fly up to the fete from Timaru, landing in a nearby paddock "that looked right" from above. STACY SQUIRES Ross and Linda Collett who flew to the Culverden Christmas Country Fete from Timaru in an airplane they just bought for themselves last week. Co-organiser Flicka Williams said the fete was colourful and vibrant and had "a very festive feel".
