Canterbury Crown Court heard Plumridge did not know the group and had arrived at the pub by himself. Eleanor Davies, prosecuting, told the court: "Mr Plumridge approached Mr Richards and friends intoxicated and they allowed him to join them. “When Mr Richards returned to the table he found there had been an issue with Mr Plumridge taking items off the table. “They asked him to leave, he didn’t, Mr Richards swore at him and Mr Plumridge took no notice. He was also told to pay Mr Richards £1,000 in compensation and was told to go on a 10-day rehab course for alcohol abuse.
