At the airport the Barcelona forward was caught on camera making his way through security when he was berated by some travelling supporters. Fans were understandably angry that Barcelona had crashed out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage for the second year running, after going into the away leg of the tie with a three-goal advantage. According to Mundo Deportivo, Messi responded to the small group of fans who accosted him at the airport. Messi is then said to have been guided away from the supporters by a Barcelona official. Liverpool discovered their Champions League final fate on Wednesday night after Tottenham channeled the Reds to beat Ajax in their semi-final.
