SUNGAI PETANI: Desperate for money to buy drug, a man beat up his wife and son before a large crowd at a market here this morning. The man became aggressive after he failed to snatch his wife’s handbag when she was walking with their 3-year-old son at the market. Kedah National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) director Mahadzir Elias said the man was then handed to the Kuala Kedah Nada office. There were also several complaints received by Nada about the man who was considered a hard-core addict. He said the man is being investigated under Section 3 (1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
