Drone footage has revealed the devastation a fire has caused on Browns Island. STUFF.CO.NZ Swathes of blackened grass are visible on Browns Island following a raging fire, which was still smouldering more than 16 hours after the alarm was raised. Browns Island is a small volcanic cone covered with grass. No ferries travel to Browns Island, and access is restricted to private boats and seaplanes.
