Drivers of VIPs sued for driving on wrong side

Traffic police have filed 57 cases against disorderly drivers for violating traffic rules, while most of the sued drivers were operating vehicles of ministers, lawmakers and top government officials. The cases were filed in a drive conducted in front of Sugandha State Guest House in Dhaka’s Ramna area on Sunday. The politicians were inside their respective vehicles when traffic police stopped their drivers for plying on the wrong side. However, they did not exchange any word with the police while their drivers were being sued. Senior Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan police (Traffic, South zone) Md Alauddin confirmed that the 57 cases were filed during the drive while seven other vehicles were fined.
