Driver escapes when vehicle flips in Manawatu GorgeWARWICK SMITH/FAIRFAX NZ A 4WD ended up on its roof. A driver had a lucky escape when their 4WD flipped and ended up on its roof on the Manawatu Gorge road. The driver managed to walk away unhurt in the crash, about 9.20pm on Saturday. A police spokeswoman said the driver, believed to be the only occupant, managed to get themselves out of the 4WD. The crash happened at the Ashhurst end of the gorge.
