I WOULD like to warn other drivers who may be unaware of this traffic rule. Recently, when approaching the Batu 9 Cheras toll from Kuala Lumpur to Kajang, I was on the right lane marked for Smart Tag users, as I intended to use my Smart Tag. A traffic policeman pulled me over and issued a summons for driving on the fast lane at 80kph. I was under the impression that I should slow down as I was approaching the toll. I hope highway concessionaires will take note of this when placing Smart Tag signs on the road so that other ignorant drivers would not be misled like me and keep to the Smart Tag lane early on.
