Operators of restaurants and bars wasted no time is rolling their shutters up ready for customers now that some of the social distancing restrictions are eased from today. They had been forced to endure a tough four weeks without operations, due to coronavirus clusters found in some well-patronized bar areas including Lan Kwai Fong, Wan Chai, and Tsim Sha Tsui. Bars were ordered shut in April under the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance, after more than 60 infections linked to them. The establishments were deemed high risk and more than 1,000 were forced to close, despite objections from the industry.
