Drinking coffee may do more good than harm, says study

Drinking moderate amounts of coffee may have more benefits than risks in adults, a new study has found. Researchers found that the potential benefits of moderate coffee drinking outweighed the risks in adult consumers for the majority of major health outcomes considered. They found the general scientific consensus is that regular, moderate coffee drinking (defined as 3-4 cups per day) essentially has a neutral effect on health, or can be mildly beneficial. Researchers from Ulster University in the UK found that the benefits of drinking a moderate amount of coffee every day outweighs the health risks faced by the adult consumers. Researchers from Ulster University in the UK reviewed 1,277 studies from 1970 till date on coffee's effect on human health.
