KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed sadness that Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) was denied allocations for a matching grant for the second year running. “Now, TAR UC is not even getting one sen, similar to what happened last year under Lim Guan Eng. Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, said that MCA had fought for some 50 years to secure matching grants for TAR UC and had received an average of RM30mil to RM60mil annually under the previous government. He also lamented that a RM5.5mil allocation for development expenses for TAR UC under the Budget last year had been slashed to RM1mil for next year. On Budget 2020 as a whole, Dr Wee said that it lacked innovation and was unattainable.
