Gonoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain has urged the government to hold dialogues with all political parties to ensure free and participatory polls. Bangladesh's constitution clearly says that the people are the ultimate owners of the state and the citizens aspire to form a government through a democratic process, he said at a meeting held at Gonoforum's central office in Dhaka on Saturday. Furthermore, Kamal Hossain emphasized that democracy, justice, the protection of human rights, and the creation of a society free from oppression were the core principles of Bangladesh's independence that was achieved through the Liberation War. However, the conflict among the political parties has threatened the achievement of independence, he added.
