The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 595 points, or 2.04 percent. The S&P 500 slid by 2.6 percent and the Nasdaq Composite fell by 3.9 percent. At one point, the Dow was down more than 800 points. The S&P 500 tech sector traded 4.3 percent lower and was on track for its biggest one-day decline since June 11, when it fell 5.8 percent. The sector was also headed for its first losing session in 11 trading days.
