Under fire for rejecting advice from a top doctor at Public Health Ontario on tough benchmarks for imposing COVID-19 restrictions, Premier Doug Ford says the thresholds can be strengthened as infections probe new highs. Public Health Ontario released a statement saying the organization stands by the comments made by Deeks that thresholds under the framework were off the mark. “I’m not in agreement with the indicators as they are currently written in the framework,” Deeks said.
