Nobody was injured when a double-decker OC Transpo bus caught fire on Industrial Avenue east of downtown Ottawa Wednesday morning. Firefighters were called to Industrial Avenue between Russell Road and St. Laurent Boulevard, close to OC Transpo headquarters, just before 10 a.m.DoubleDecker Fire on Indy #ottnews pic.twitter.com/RlDvW3hYlN —@OCtranspo10Callers reported smoke coming from the bus, which wasn't carrying passengers, and said the driver was trying to put out the flames with an extinguisher. When firefighters arrived they encountered heavy smoke and flames, but were able to get the fire under control about 10 minutes after they were called. The fire is not considered suspicious.
