Nyamira Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko has urged school heads to prioritize basic things during budgeting and running of their respective institutions. The speaker said that such fundraisers could be avoided if schools stopped striving to purchase school buses instead of setting up basic amenities such as classes and dormitories. The legislator was speaking on Wednesday during a fundraiser aimed at facilitating construction of a dining hall at Riomego Mixed Secondary School. According to Nyamoko, many institutions have put many parents under unnecessary pressure by calling on them to fund various school projects that are not of benefit to students. "I ask school managements to get a plan of work, put essential things first, like classrooms, dormitories, labs, library and something like a bus to come later," said Nyamoko.
