I don't want the Crusaders to win the Super Rugby final on Saturday night. With rare and horrendous exceptions, average Kiwis also don't find themselves confronted by hate-filled gunmen trying to kill as many of them as possible while they're worshipping, as our Muslim community did on March 15. There's no such scenario for the Muslim community, just quietly. If the Crusaders do win on Saturday night, as expected, I hope there's some leadership from the senior players and coaches in the joyous aftermath. I hope genuinely acknowledging the Muslim community's pain is the first thing out of their mouths, before the trophy presentation and the break-dancing.
