In another section of the interview, Lemon opened up about what he feels his responsibilities are. “I have a responsibility, not only as a journalist but as an American, to tell the truth and to abide by the promises of the Constitution — because the Constitution says a more perfect union, not a perfect union,” Lemon said to the outlet. When the network released Lemon in April, he took to Twitter and said he was “stunned” by CNN’s decision.
