The association stated that, a number of drunkards are to blame for the numerous spoilt ballots in the polls. The association further said that, the number of spoilt ballots could even determine the winner of the elections. Since 1992, there has been a phenomenal increase in the incidence of rejected ballots during elections making it difficult for the wishes of the electorate to be known. The statement signed by the President of the Drunkards Association of Ghana, Moses Onyah, also assured that Ghana would enjoy a violent free election if people restrain their selves from drinking on election day.
