Almost all African countries barring Lesotho and Comoros have reported infections. And with Spain and France each having well over 100,000 Covid-19 cases just next door, Morocco is like the northern shield for Africa. To mitigate the inevitable economic burden from Covid-19, Morocco has set up a special fund which by March 25 exceeded $2.54 billion. The same cannot be said of many African nations simply because they don’t have the capacity. But for most of other African nations, the fight against Covid-19 is a big question mark.
