SHAH ALAM: The upcoming UPSR results announcement on Thursday will not mention the top-achieving school nor make comparisons between districts. Deputy Education Minister Datuk Chong Sin Woon said this was to reduce the emphasis on exams. He also said that the elite classes often became the main focus of the school, garnering most of the school’s teaching efforts and resources. Chong also said students could obtain co-curricular points by joining competitions organised by ministry-accredited societies such as the KL KSK. He added that both CEFR and the Primary School Standard Curriculum (KSSR) textbooks would be used, with the latter as supplements.
