A Chinese army dog called Ding Dang is well on its way to becoming a paratrooper. The German Shepherd serves the Airborne Corps of the People's Liberation Army Air Force and recently completed a training session of tandem skydive alongside its handler. Footage released by China's state broadcaster shows Ding Dang attending the death-defying mission while being attached to its trainer by a harness. Its commander hopes that the air force dog would be qualified as a paratrooper soon. In 2010, British special forces parachuted German Shepherd Dogs in Afghanistan to hunt for Taliban insurgents, according to the Guardian.
