Docs push for tighter quarantine – The Manila Times

The government has relaxed the quarantine restrictions in the country to allow more businesses to resume their operations amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Metro Manila is under a general community quarantine, or GCQ, alongside Isabela, Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao Del Sur, Iligan City and Davao City, until December 31. The rest of the country is under the more lenient modified general community quarantine or MGCQ. A 15-day MECQ is needed so that the public can be reminded about the enforcement of minimum public health standards, added Limpin. She said the IATF-EID and its pool of experts will meet on December 28 to announce the new quarantine classifications in the country by Jan. 1, 2021.
