2 LPAs spotted – Pagasa – The Manila Times

TWO new low-pressure areas (LPAs) were spotted over Zamboanga City and Eastern Samar on Saturday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. At 10 a.m. on Friday, the first LPA, which already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), was estimated at 50 kilometers east-southeast of Zamboanga City, Pagasa said. Chris Perez, Pagasa senior weather specialist, told The Manila Times that the other LPA, also at the PAR, was spotted at the same time at 315 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The state-run weather agency said the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will also experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. The combined effects of these weather disturbances today, December 27, will bring moderate to heavy rains over Aurora, Quezon, including Polillo Islands and Bicol Region, and light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Eastern Visayas and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
