A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a referee was attacked at a youth football game. The attack, which left the 50-year-old official with facial injuries, happened during the match between Diss Town U13s and Spixworth U13s and led to the abandonment of the game. Norfolk Police said: “Police were called to Bressingham playing fields shortly before 11.30am on Sunday, following a report of an incident at a youth club football match between a spectator and referee.
