Renton is listed under Nelson on the Local Hero medal recipients announcement on the New Zealander of the Year awards website. Regional medal presentations for Local Hero medal recipients are taking place over the next five weeks, with the first in Hamilton on Tuesday. One recipient will be named the Local Hero of the Year at the New Zealander of the Year Awards dinner in February.
