CAIRO – 22 November 2020: Director General of Karnak Antiquities and Al-Kebash Road Mostafa al-Sagheer, , won the second prize in the "China and I" writing competition organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo in cooperation with “China Today” magazine and the Egyptian Radio and Television Magazine, for the year 2020. 372 participants from Egypt participated in the competition with various literary works highlighting the distinguished relationship between Egypt and China. Al-Sagheer won for his literary work under the title "Get ready, you will travel to China", in which he tackled the story of the inauguration of joint Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in the field of archaeology by participating in the working group on developing cooperation between the Egyptian and Chinese side, in addition to Egyptian scientific participations in major Chinese conferences, as well as the establishment of the first joint Egyptian-Chinese archaeological mission in the Montu Temple in Karnak and also due to the Egyptians support to their Chinese counterpart during the outbreak of the novel Corona virus pandemic in the People's Republic of China; and to showing the spirit of harmony in human relations between the two people which was embodied in various situations, highlighting the role that the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities played in making the joint Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in the field of archaeology, for the first time, to be of mutual benefit to both sides.
